Gerald Arthur Leonard Doyle

Gerald A Doyle, of Waterford and Moncton, NB, passed away peacefully at St Joseph's hospital in St. John, NB on Monday, April 23, 2012.

Born in Chatham NB, November 6, 1926, Gerry led a long, well lived life. He travelled the far corners of the world and made many friends pursuing his passions sailing, skiing, and amateur radio. It was the Bras d'Ors Lakes,NS, Poley Mountain, Waterford, NB and Kitzbuhel, Austria that gave Gerry the most heartfelt pleasure.

Predeceased by his wife, Rose (McGrand), his parents Arthur Doyle and Florence (DeWolfe), a brother Jack of L'Orignal, ON, sisters Jean White of Toronto, ON, and Kay Ramsey of Cleveland, OH. He was also predeceased by his longtime sailing and skiing companion, Miriam Smith of Riverview, NB.  

He is survived by his two sons Brian (Margie) of Lower Jemseg, NB and John (Netra) of Seattle, WA, and his three grandchildren, Brendan, Trevor and Helen, by his brother Jim, (Eileen) of Miramichi, NB, his sister-in-law Doris McIsaac of Ottawa, ON, several nieces and nephews, and many, many, friends.

Gerry's family and friends extend a very special thanks to the staff at the GEM unit of the St. Joseph Hospital, St. John, who cared for Gerry with compassion, dignity and respect.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 2, 2012 from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am at Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel with Father Hachey officiating, 171 Lutz St. Moncton, NB. There will be a reception held immediately after the service.

Interment will be held at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery.
