Kathleen Lilian Shefford

Kathleen Lilian. Shefford, 69, of Riverview, NB; passed away at Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital on Wednesday, July 25, 2012. Born in London, England; Kathleen was an only child of Alice Kathleen (nee Bartlett) and Henry William Coe.

After emigrating from London England to Thompson MB, Kate worked for the Federal Government in Winnipeg and Moncton where, after a career in Human Resources, she retired from Agriculture Canada in 2003. Since then, she has been an active member of the FSNA-ANRF (National Association of Federal Retirees).

She was a member of St. Paul's United Church, in Riverview, NB. She was active in her community, a member of the Probus,  the Beta Sigma Phi, the Red Hat Society, a founding member of the Champagne and Chocolate Club and a member of the Gourmet Dinner Club. Throughout her life Kate was always physically active and was a member of Sneakers Racquet Club; she enjoyed the Iron Woman Competitions and later in life she was working on her Tai Chi. Kate had an abiding interest in the environment and loved spending time working in her garden.

She will be sadly missed by her Canadian Family, Marilyn Galliott, Robert Black and Family, Helen Viger and Family and Elizabeth Ann (Betty) and Peter Nowlan all of Moncton and Riverview.

Honoring Kathleen's wishes there is no visitation at the funeral home.
A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Paul's United Church, 404 Cleveland Ave. Riverview, on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 2h00pm with Rev. Steve Berube officiating.

Donations in Kathleen's memory made to the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital Foundation "Oncology Dept.", the Moncton SPCA or charity of donor's choice would be appreciated.

Our gratitude and appreciation goes out the Doctors and Nurses in Palliative Care of the Dr. Georges L. Dumont University Hospital for their Caring Gentle Ways and for being so respectful of Kathleen's wishes.
