John M. Melvin, 92, of Moncton, NB; passed
away at Moncton Hospital, on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. Born in
Cherryfield, NB he was the son of the late Milledge and Mary (Price)
Melvin. John was a retired truck driver with Co-op
Atlantic.
John - a man who loved his family and life, hard working,
social butterfly, Mr. Fix It, passion for woodworking and carpentry,
adventurous, dependable, pillar in his community, loved his walks ...
now walks the golden road ~ no walker, no
pain.
John is survived by five daughters Susan (Paul) Alward of
Second North River, Beverly (Frank) Haines of Lower Coverdale, Karen
(Andy) Sanford of Second North River; Holly (Greg) Carson of Elgin,
Cindy (Grant) Alcorn of Saint John; one son Merle (Michelle) Melvin of
Riverview; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two
sisters, Daisy (Wally) Bone and Sharron (Bob) VanBuskirk; as well as
several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, John was recently predeceased by his
loving wife Violet M. Melvin (Nov 2022); and by his sisters,
Phyllis (Dollard) Leblanc, Madeline (Steve) DeWitt, Geneva
(Norman) Jones, Joyce Walsh, Darlene Melvin; and two
brothers, Joe Melvin, Brian Melvin.
Visitation will be held at Tuttle Brothers Riverview Funeral
Home 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview on Sunday, February 26, 2023 from
7:00pm to 9:00pm
The funeral service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Riverview
Funeral Chapel, 214 Pine Glen Rd. on Monday, February 27, 2023 at
11:00am with Rev. Heidi Billington officiating.
Interment Fair Haven Memorial Gardens,
Moncton.
Donations in John’s memory made to the Friends of
the Moncton Hospital Foundation or to a charity of the
donor’s choice would be appreciated by his
family.
