J. Robert (Bob) Barry
of Pointe-du-Chene, NB passed away at
his residence on Sunday,
May 14, 2023, at the age of 81. Born in
Dartmouth NS, he was the
son of the late John and Ida (Belton)
Barry.
Growing up, Bob was highly
involved in the Scouting Movement.
He was valedictorian of his graduating class, and was employed
with Chrysler Canada Ltd.
in Moncton.
In 1972 Bob married the love of
his life, Roberta (Bert) Beers and
moved to Riverview where
they brought up two daughters, Jennifer
and Heather. He
volunteered at the Riverview Fire Department for
several years achieving the
rank of Lieutenant. In 1981 Bob along with
Roger Dupuis and Raymond
Thibodeau opened the very popular Urban
Corral.
Bob was happiest when he was
helping people of all ages and from all walks of life, right up until the day before his
death. He was one of the original Victim Services volunteers, along with Help-24
Au Secour. Many, many
people are thankful to Bob for all his patience,
kindness, and support
over many years.
He is survived by his wife of 50
years Bert (Beers); daughter Heather Barry; granddaughter Riley Rae Bourque; sister Kay Dyer
(Blair) of Halifax; niece
Keley Doiron; nephews Jeff Beers and Steve
Dyer.
Bob was predeceased by
his beloved daughter Jennifer Bourque in
2016.
A Celebration of Life will be
held at Tuttle Brothers Riverview
Funeral Home, 214 Pine Glen
Road, Riverview, on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00
p.m.
